Abertay Student’s Association will be hosting their annual Student-Led Teaching Awards (SLTAs) on Wednesday 29 April 2015. This is a fantastic way of recognising the excellent teaching that goes on at Abertay with nominations coming from those who have experienced the wide range of practices and initiatives that are part of teaching and learning at Abertay. The award categories this year are:
- Outstanding Teaching
- Innovative Teaching
- Best Platform for Employability
- Outstanding Commitment to Student Welfare
- Outstanding Dissertation Supervisor
- Best Feedback on Assessments
- Most Inspirational Moment
Abertay was at the forefront of implementing SLTAs and was one of eight institutions which took part in the 2009/10 HEA/NUS Scotland pilot. The success of this pilot led to the implementation of SLTAs across the UK-wide sector with over 65% of NUS affiliated institutions holding SLTAs in 2014.
As part of a diverse community of practice, it is great to see our staff being nominated by their students for these awards and is a reflection of the high standards we have here at Abertay.
Good luck to all the nominees on Wednesday.
